Windows 7 and Windows 8 are using an outdated security protocol. eBay has recently increased their security requirements. This results in the error message “Run-time error ‘-2147012739 (80072f7d)’: An error occurred in the secure channel support”
Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Install the KB3140245 Security Patch. You’ll only need to install one of these patches based on your version of Windows.

2. Update your Windows Registry file
The next step is to update your Windows Registry file to the updated security protocols.
